This is essentially two titanium abutments that are surgically inserted into the underlying bone structure in that area of your mouth. Then it is topped with a dental bridge.
The two implants can be installed in a single outpatient appointment where you will need to be deeply sedated. This means you will need to arrange to have a friend or family member drive you and help you at home afterward.
As time goes by, the abutments will gradually bond with the surrounding bone tissues in a process known as osseointegration. Once this has been achieved, Dr. Michael Woody will take an impression of the area to start the process of fitting you for a standard bridge.
